About the Hackathon:
Generative AI, a cutting-edge branch of Artificial Intelligence, empowers users to craft original and inventive content, encompassing text, images, audio, and video. At the LCUC Generative AI Hackathon, we cordially invite you to immerse yourselves in this cutting-edge technology to develop solutions in areas such as:
Analyzing member spending and investment patterns and provide guidance toward financial wellness
Creating chatbots and virtual assistants to better serve members
Developing near real-time dashboard to summarize member insights
Tools to prioritize collection emails, tag disputes, and identify resolution owners
Automating the writing of internal reports and compliance documents
And other solutions that you believe will create value for credit unions and members

How it Works:
Formation: Assemble a dynamic team of 4-5 individuals from your credit union, ideally who will each contribute unique expertise from various domains (technology, marketing, finance, etc.)
If your credit union would like to participate, but does not have 4-5 participants, please contact jegan.ponraj@tcs.com who will facilitate the formation of cross-credit union teams
Proposal Submission: Using the Proposal Form, (click link to access) complete a brief proposal outlining the high-level details of your idea, target users, benefits, risks, and more, for your proposed solution.
Proposal Evaluation: Based on the submitted proposals, a panel of experts from the credit union system, TCS, and Microsoft, will select approximately 10 credit union teams to participate in the in-person hackathon at Pace Port in Toronto.
Prototype Development: Should your proposal be chosen, your team will be invited to build a prototype solution at the TCS Pace Port in Toronto, utilizing cutting-edge GenAI tools and datasets.
Presentation: Unveil your solution before the panel of experts and vie for the coveted opportunity to have your innovation developed for the credit union system, as well as generous pool of cash and non-cash prizes.
Webinar: Introduction to Generative AI
In our continued efforts to ensure that all participants are well-prepared and equipped with the knowledge required for the LCUC Generative AI Hackathon, we are thrilled to announce that our partners, Microsoft and TCS (Tata Consultancy Services), will be organizing an introductory webinar on Generative AI. What to expect:
Overview of Generative AI: Gain a comprehensive understanding of what Generative AI is, its applications, and its significance in the financial services sector.
Key Concepts: Explore fundamental concepts and terminology related to Generative AI, ensuring that you're on the same page as fellow participants.
Introduction to GPT-3.5: Discover the capabilities of the GPT-3.5 model, which powers the renowned ChatGPT and will be a key focus of our hackathon.
